How your trip and your money are protected
CK Matkali s.r.o. is a licensed Czech travel agency. Under Czech law, which implements the EU Package Travel Directive, every package tour we sell is protected if we became insolvent: you get your payments back, and if you are already traveling, you are brought home.
Our travel agency licence
Czech law requires a licence to sell package tours. Ours was granted in September 2025 and is valid indefinitely.

Insolvency insurance with UNIQA
If Matkali ever became insolvent, the insurance would refund what you paid. If you were already traveling, it would cover what it takes to bring you home.

The Czech Guarantee Fund
CK Matkali s.r.o. contributes to the Guarantee Fund of Czech travel agencies (Garanční fond cestovních kanceláří), overseen by the Czech Ministry of Regional Development.

Your contract and payments
Before you book, you receive the standard EU package travel information form. Your trip is then confirmed with a written travel contract and our General Terms.

- Currency
- Prices are in euros. You can pay in euros or US dollars; a payment in dollars is converted at our bank's rate on the day it arrives.
Questions about protection
- What happens if Matkali goes out of business before my trip?
- You get back what you paid, through our insolvency insurance with UNIQA.
- What if it happens while I'm traveling?
- You are brought home, and you get back a fair share of the price for the part of the trip you didn't receive.
- Does this cover Shuttermoon and Johnny's Photo Tours?
- Yes. Both are brands of CK Matkali s.r.o., so every package tour sold under them is covered.
- Are my international flights covered?
- No. International flights are not part of our trips; you book them yourself, so the insurance doesn't cover them. Travel insurance can.
